Welcome the Coney Island Museum’s 2023 Intern

The 2023 Coney Island Museum Internship has been awarded to Sophia Tarin.

I'm a poet, librarian, and professor of creative writing. I'm working towards an M.A. in the History of Art and Design and an M.S. in Library and Information Science at Pratt Institute with a concentration in artists’ archives. I’m thrilled to be contributing to the amazing preservation work happening at the Coney Island Museum. It’s such a joy to spend the summer with printed-material that showcases the craftsmanship and artistry involved in amusement rides, advertisement, and the performing arts.

The CIM is grateful for the generous endowment that enabled the creation of this program, and confident that Sophia’s skills and commitment to excellence will greatly assist in furthering the Museum’s mission.
