The Coney Island Museum 40th Anniversary Celebration

Since 1983, the Coney Island Museum has been keeping alive the memories and magic of NYC’s favorite seaside resort for residents and visitors alike. From art to artifacts, we are dedicated to preserving and promoting the unique history of the People’s Playground, and its many contributions to American popular culture. 

Join us on Saturday, July 29, at 1pm for a day of special programming, as we celebrate the past — and look to the future.

Free Admission to the Museum and Museum Programs All Day!

In the Museum:

  • 12-1pm- VIP Reception (Invited Guests Only)

  • 1:30pm- Magic with Bob Yorburg*

  • 2:30pm-Lecture and Slide Presentation by Larry Racioppo, renowned Coney Island photographer*

In the Freak Bar:

  • 4pm- Coney Island Comedies - Silent Shorts with Organ Accompaniment by Ian Fraser, including:

  • At Coney Island (1912) - Mabel Normand & Mack Sennett (Run Time: 6:30)

  • Coney Island (1917) - Buster Keaton & Fatty Arbuckle (Run Time: 25:56)

  • Number Please? (1920) - Harold Lloyd & Mildred Davis (Run Time: 23:40)

    On 12th Street:

  • Alliance For Coney Island’s Open Streets with live entertainment and family fun, including magic by Richard Cohn, Bob Yorburg’s antique hand-cranked organ, vintage cars, and and So Much More!
