On Saturday, June 20, thousands of folks will once again gather in south Brooklyn for Coney Island USA’s annual Mermaid Parade, a celebration of the weird and wonderful, and paean to the creativity and resilience of our community.

Join the Coney Island Museum as we welcome author/photographer Ken Farrell and celebrate the launch of his new book, The Mermaids of Coney Island

About the Author:

Ken Farrell has been taking street portraits for over 50 years. He has taken tens of thousands of shots of friends, family and strangers on the streets throughout New York City.

He grew up in Brooklyn in the 1950’s and visited Steeplechase more times than he can count.

Yes, The Mermaid Parade is the most interesting parade in NYC, and Ken captures the flavor of the event in his new book "The Mermaids of Coney Island".

He will be signing his book and giving a small presentation about his photography and the Parade. Find out if you are in the book!
